Mr. Infinite | The Legacy of Clay Naffziger

Clay “Mr. Infinite” Naffziger, standout at Campolindo High School and Infinite Training, built a legacy in Northern California youth basketball with leadership, shooting, and perseverance.

Some players define eras. Others define culture.

Clay “Mr. Infinite” Naffziger did both.

In 2023, Infinite Training retired jersey NUMBER 1 in honor of a player whose impact went far beyond the box score. Clay represents the heart, resilience, and loyalty that Infinite was built on.

A Journey That Started in 7th Grade

Clay joined Infinite Training in 7th grade and stayed with us all the way through his high school career at Campolindo High School in Moraga, California. His journey practically mirrors the evolution of the program itself. For a long time, Clay doubled as our center, not because we were experimenting with positions, but simply because we lacked size and he was the toughest player on the court. Anything in his path was Clay’s territory. Every loose ball, every rebound, every contested play, he took it and made it his own.

Eventually, we realized even Clay’s superhuman toughness had its limits, so over the years we brought in future Infinite greats like Hall of Famer Johnny Cerruti, Thomas Labat, Landon Edmond, etc. to help in the size department.

He experienced every phase of Infinite’s growth:

  • Historic wins and difficult losses

  • Program expansion

  • COVID-era teams and uncertainty

  • A special Class of 2023, where 9 of 16 players went on to play college basketball

Through every transition, Clay stayed.

Choosing Commitment When It Was Hard

There were moments when Clay had opportunities to leave. There were also moments when quitting felt easier.

But he never walked away.

He fought through doubt, frustration, and adversity, choosing commitment over comfort. That decision made him the heart and soul of Infinite Training. His presence set the tone for teammates, younger players, and the culture we continue to protect today.

A Campolindo Career Built on the Big Stage

At Campolindo High School, 6"3 Clay Naffziger became a three-year varsity player, competing on the biggest stages high school basketball has to offer.

By the end of his career, his accomplishments spoke for themselves:

  • 2x All DAL selection

  • 2x NCS Champion

  • One of the greatest three-point shooters in Campolindo High School history

More than the accolades, Clay was trusted in the biggest moments because of his work ethic, composure, and belief in the team.

Jersey Number 1, Forever

Retiring Clay’s jersey was about far more than wins or statistics.

Number 1 represents loyalty, perseverance, and a belief in something bigger than yourself. It stands for showing up during the hard years, not just the successful ones.

Clay is celebrated as the best shooter in Infinite history, but his impact went far beyond scoring. His relentless rebounding and fearless ability to finish around the rim reflected his dedication, toughness, and team-first mentality. Those underrated traits defined the way he played every game and set an example for every athlete who followed. Clay’s complete game, work ethic, and commitment to his teammates are a core part of the legacy he leaves at Infinite Training.

He earned this honor by staying true to Infinite when it mattered most.

A Legacy That Lives On

Clay graduated from Campolindo in 2023 and is now pursuing his journey beyond the court at UC Irvine. While his playing days are behind him, his legacy continues to be a cornerstone of Infinite Training.

Every athlete who stays the course. Every player who chooses growth over shortcuts. Every teammate who leads with humility.

That is Clay’s impact.

Thank you, Clay, for representing Infinite Training with pride, integrity, and heart every single day.
